Team J News Issue 9 - Team J riders enjoy successful day at Oakville Showjumping Competition!

Sunday 27th August was the last weekend in winter and Team J riders enjoyed it with a successful day at the Oakville Showjumping Competition.

Todd Hinde rode our promising young horse Sam for 2 impressive rounds in the 60 & 80 cm events, Amy Robertson did a good round on Chantilly in the 60 and Murray Robertson rode a terrific clear round on Prince.

Andrea Skinner rode well on Matchem Mischief (Max), for a 3rd in the the 1.00m class. Amy Robertson impresssed for a stylish 2nd in the 1.10m and I was pleased with my young horse Zodie who was 3rd in the 1.10cm event. Congratulations to Darren Phillips and Peter Hoogland who stage this excellent event.

George Johnson is returning this week from a competition trip to the Gold Coast where he competed in 3 weeks of competitions on his C Grader Pocket Rocket and was pleased with 4th placing in the Young Rider division. George travelled up with Julia Hargreaves and had an enjoyable trip away, and we will all be glad to see him back home. Sadly the competition future for George's top horse Ozbred is very bleak with a serious eye injury putting him out of action.

Team J riders are now looking forward to Junior and Open State Titles in October, Jody Sloper Clinic in November and the End of Year Championships in December.
