Team J News Issue 16- An Easter visit to Thunderbirds for CJ!

On Thursday 5th April I made my fourth visit back to the friendly Northside training group - "The Thunderbirds", to conduct a showjumping clinic.

Organised by Thunderbirds coordinator Rachel Smith with her usual friendly efficiency, the beautiful Autumn weather made for perfect riding conditions.

I had three groups of riders ranging in experience and abilities. We worked on variations of three exercises,

1. Four rails on a circle - for rail literacy, rhythm and general warm up.
2. Four rails/ small jumps on a curve with trot or canter bounce options- for connection, canter balance and symmetry.
3. A four fence course, incorporating a 5 and a 6 six stride curved related line- oxer to vertical & vertical to oxer, for control of pace line & rhythm.

I'd like to thank all the following riders and congratulate them on a wonderful day of jump training.
